Ice Cream Shack in Peoria

Delicious soft serve ice cream. Creamy and flavorful. Cones are tall enough to challenge even the fastest eaters in the summer heat. Their malt is good, but I prefer the richer scooped ice cream from Spotted Cow in shakes. Ice Cream Shack is a special summer treat.

This place is a gem! So many different, unique flavors at a great price! I got the puppy chow and loved it! The serving sizes are very generous! There are no indoor eating areas but plenty of nice benches and tables outside. There are restrooms here aswell!

This place is so good. Soft serve ice cream. I think one of their best is either strawberry shortcake wizard or puppy chow wizard

Not so freibdly very high priced to be let down

First time being here today, it was pretty good. Had the shack 🍔 basically( maid rite) A hot dog ,Chili fries and Ice cream. It was better than average. I'd go back for sure

I live 2,000 miles away so when I make it into town you are one of my stops. I visited practically every day when I was a kid living on the North End. Loved you then, loved you still!!

A little on the pricey side for ice cream. Used to be a better value but now anymore.

one day i came and the ice cream tasted great i had strawberry , i visited again and the strawberry and vanilla ice cream tasted like spoiled milk and they didn’t do nothing about it . the taste was just way off . never coming again .

The Brownie sundae was amazing (was $5)! They also have lemon ice cream. We got a quart to take home. My husband got a puppy chow wizard (like a blizzard) and my son got a gum wizard (with real gum pieces in it). The small wizards are about the size of a medium McDonald's cup (shorter but a bit wider, for size reference).

For some reason when I go there over looked can't seem to get waited on even when not too busy, each time I have to leave at Emos now, but just wasn't what I wanted.

My favorite ice cream place. I love the chili cheese hot dogs and the chili cheese tamales would recommend this place anyone .

Open only during the warmest six months of the year. It's a shaded area with round concrete tables that provides hot dogs, fries, ice cream and other fast food type items. No frills but a lovely place to stop if you're in town doing errands. Bathrooms are clean. Food is cash only. I would say it's iconic to Peoria.

It's OK because it depends on who is at the window and who is preparing your order. I either get poor customer service, food not good or sometimes both. I keep going back because I have not found another place who makes the ice cream slushie. You have to try the orange ice cream slushie. It is really good when it's made correctly.

Being a Bradley Alum the Ice Cream Shack was a college staple. I have no idea what makes it so special, but their ice cream is amazing. It is soft serve, and the portion sizes are gigantic. My medium cone last night was 8" tall for just the ice cream portion!!! It was $13 for my cone, my dad's blizzard/mixer (I don't remember what they call it), and my mom's small hot fudge sundae. So I think value for your money is fabulous!

Large hot fudge and large strawberry sundaes we're the best. Lot's of hot fudge and lots of strawberry along with whip cream and a cherry on top. A nice shaded park with tables and lighting is provided for our (their customers) convenience. Good money value. Definitely worth the stop if you enjoy ice cream.

We moved into the area last Oct so we wanted to explore new place and we went here for a good chili dog after seeing reviews online. Must say I was very shocked when they put our food in a microwave to serve it to us. Girls were rude at the counter. I wont be back. I'll drive the extra cpl mins to go to another place that wants the business.Decided to give them another chance and take my family to get blizzards. Ordered 6 they gave us 5! Another guy took 1 of ours. I told the ppl at the counter they can count them we only got 5 and it was a issue. When spending 30$ on ice cream I expect to get everything I ordered. Another horrible experience. Will def take our business to Dairy Queen or another ice cream place.

What I've never reviewed this place? Stop reading and just go. It's a local favorite of mine and my family. The softserve ice cream might not be for everyone. But, this place has a ton of variety. The lines get long but usually move fast.

-Employee forgot we placed an order-someone took our fries...they don’t mark their bags to differentiate what’s in which bag. (I’d suggest giving people order numbers and or writing the orders on the bags) -we wound up getting chili cheese fries instead of cheese fries. My friend said they were good but they were only warm and some were cold. -when we finally said what we were waiting on (after a family that ordered after us received their large order. )They were sorry and gave us double of what we ordered which was only a hotdog and burger. So we now had 2 burgers & 2 hotdogs. They also gave us a $5 gift certificate. Overall, they were accommodating when they realized they messed up. My time here was just unpleasant, and I don’t plan on coming back. Ice cream was good though

A local iconic ice cream shop. Excellent quality ice cream. True lemon tasting ice cream and other unique distinctive ingredients for other things. Cash only!

I've been coming to get ice cream here for over five years and have seen old owners go and come and it's always been a very good place and nice the prices where raised but they weren't to high. And they even put doggie bones on top of vanilla ice cream for dogs, they also have a very good lemon ice cream and I don't really care for lemon. If you want to come here with the family or just stop by to cool the tounge it's a very good choice and I would recommend it.
